Folding Table Leg

The folding table legs on the slide next to the sofa have never worked properly & have collapsed before so I decide to replace them. Amazon had several but the AP Products 013-070 Adjustable Folding Table Leg seemed to be the same unit so I ordered a pair. Second picture shows it next to the nonfunctional leg.

On receipt, they seemed identical to the originals. There is a slightly less expensive model AP Products 013-135 that may work as well & has a simpler mechanism but has a different appearance.

A little late, I know, but I'll post it for others. The secret of the table leg is this. When you are ready to collapse the table, you push the little button, then slide the lower part of the leg into the upper part. Push the lower part up only an inch or two. If you push it all the way in, it will jam every time.

Agree except with the 070 you pull the T-bar to disengage the button and then it slides freely. Agree it only needs to collapse an inch or two. There is a stop at the end of the leg to keep it from going in too far and this can jam if insistant..

There are four pieces to the 070 leg. The fixed channel with mount, the sliding channel with the rubber foot, the T-bar and the spring with the lock button. On the one leg the latter two were missing entirely but on the other they had seperated and I was able to rebuild the assembly. So now I have a spare. I like having spares.

TM did put all eight screws in each mount to fasten to the table which was a plesant surprise, suspect some "lesser" manufacturers might have just used four.

And if you add a sheet metal screw at the place you want it to stop, it will never jam.

on the dinette table in my 2720SD there are 2 legs, one goes to the floor, I can not seem to find or see what the other one even does? anyone know .

Hi, I'm not sure if I'm doing this right but I was wondering if you have advice on how to rebuild the legs. I managed to mess them up (ok, it was probably my son but he's not here for me to interrogate at the moment) and they are both jammed with the sliding channel inside and I've manage to pull off the t-bar, spring and rubber foot. Should I just unscrew them from the tables and try to pop them back together? The first thing I noticed is these aren't standard screws so I'll look for a tool that'll work. I've only used the camper a couple of times and didn't really pay attention to the sliding bars before. Are there diagrams available? I have a 2720SL.

The tip in post #2 above should prevent jamming. Have you tried it?

The "non-standard screws" are called #2 square drive here in the US. More properly called #2 Robertson drive in Canada, where it was invented. The entire trailer is assembled with these Robertson screws, so you should go down to the hardware store and get a #2 square drive screwdriver. Only a few bucks. You'll often find them in the Clearance basket at Ace Hardware. Or here's an expensive one from Lowes

Thanks for the quick reply! I'll try to rebuild them this weekend and THEN put the screw in like was recommended so it doesn't happen again.

How to un-jam it? Just tried to open both table sides and the T and push button clip fell out and on the other one the leg refuses to budge. Actually both legs refuse to budge.

Thought I'd ask before grabbing a big wrench and trying to force them. :-D
