Filling Water Tank In Down Position

I recall a thread regarding a retrofit to fill water while TrailManor is in down position - can't find it now. If anyone has a solution let me know.

I had a post where I added two boat Through Hull fittings to the side of the water tank ear the top. I then ran 1/2" hose through the floor for both. On One I added a shutoff /oneway valve. On the other I added a 90 elbow out to the bottom side of the TM where I added a female hose coupling. You can attach a freshwater hose and fill the tank until water comes out the vent ( oneway valve). Itis very easy to add the tank fittings if you first add a deck plate to the top of the water tank. This makes cleaning very simple and much faster as you do not have to fill the tank with disinfectant to clean it.

I don't mean to be snide but it only takes half a minute to open the front shell enough to get to the water fill cap, then another half minute to close it. I don't even fasten the front latches just to drive to the camp-site.

I don't see much up side in doing this mod. Seems like a lot of investment in time for very little return IMHO.

We do 15-20 dry camp-outs a year and I always tow empty and fill up when I get to the CG.

On the 2720SL, at least, I seem to recall that the the water fill is covered by the rear shell, since the tank is under the sink. So filling requires you to open both shells. Not a big chore obviously, but slightly more hassle.

That, I can see.

I mean.....I love to find excuses to tinker with my trailer but there are limits.....

The above mod was made to a 2720Sl. The front needs to be open quite a bit to get the rear shell up enough to get to the fill plus it was a way to play with the TM during the off season for those of us who have snow in the winter.

How about plumbing a hose connection to the drain value and filling the tank backwards. Since it is vented it might fill.
