Default Corner Latches

I have had the upper "U" part tear loose on 2 corners.  They don't seem to be mounted into anything but the skin.  Anyone got any suggestions?  We just returned from a 4,400 mile trip to Yellowstone, Black Hills, ect, and never could keep these hooked.  Too tight and they pull the "U" out.  Too loose and they pop open.

I never had the problem of them pulling the U out, but I did have them pop open.  Usually within 5 miles of the house.    Never did get them to stay properly.  Donnie from TM never had any ideas about them either.  I think you could try a different latch mechanism, but then you have to fill in the holes!

Just to let you know, ours popped out dozens of times on our recent 3 week trip.  Glad to know we're not alone.
