Recommendations for T.V. reception
We don't usually watch television while camping, but there are rainy days and days when the fish don't bite. Sometimes it would be nice to see the weather channel. We also have a mountain cabin where we do not want a permanent dish mounted to advertise that there is a television ready to be stolen. Is there something that will work with both? If so, how complicated is it to set up? Cost? Why did you pick your method of reception?

How about the Tailgater
Dish also offers the Tailgater, which will search for stations, and there is a plan which allows you to pay only for the months it is being used. I would be interested in hearing about the experiences forum members have had with any of these products.

I use a flat panel shaped one that I hook up to the TV and just throw on the roof of the TM. Works fine unless there are numerous "monster" RVs parked around me at just the wrong places.

We are using the tailgater now at Davis Mountains State Park and really enjoy it ! We do not get our local stations but we do have cable here also for that, does anyone know if you can have both hooked up at the same time and just switch back and forth or do you have to disconnect one or the other? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Depends on the channels, in general cable uses different ones than OTA so could Y. OTOH satellite and cable will probably collide. Personally, I'd use an A-B.

Are you still using your Tailgater? We just switched to Dish so we could use the Tailgater in our TM.
I have some questions:
Where do you set it up?
Did you mount it on the TM?
How do you switch from antenna to dish?
I'm considering mounting it on the TM but that would require removing the antenna or using a cable switch so I'm not sure what would be the best method.
Anyone else using a Tailgater?
Thanks

We run the cable through the flap near the sink to the receiver , we did not mount it to the TM. When I have the cable and Dish hooked up at the same time I cut the Dish receiver off and use the remote for the TV and vice versa. Worked great ! We love the tailgater and use it on every trip.
