From your questions are you sure you have the skills to safely do this?
Do you understand the difference between series and parallel circuits?
These are not meant to be negative, they are posed to insure a safely installed project.
The switch you have chosen will work but isn't the best for the application.
You will need spade crimp connectors for the switch, they look like this

They need to be for the wire size you are using and stud size you are using.
With the switch in your hand as shown in your picture a jumper between the top two screws will do what Bill talked about. A second jumper between the bottom two screws will complete what he talked about.
This places the switch contacts in parallel and reduces contact resistance.
The wire and fuse disconnected from the battery goes to one of the bottom screws.
Your new wire goes to one of the top screws, have the switch off before connecting this wire to the battery.
