Default Horizonal Tanks Purpose

What is purpose of horizontal tanks? I see the mention in posts of the SL model. What is the SL model?

The SL model is the model with a slide-out living area with a sofa (and usually a chair). The SD model has the slide-out also but it has a dining table and benches on the slide-out instead of the sofa. You can see the edge of the slide-out, just in front of my lovely wife's feet.

The non SL or SD model have a raised bed (like the rear bed) in that area.

Ours is the SL model

The non-slide model has a horizontal fresh water tank under one of the benches. The SL model has a sort of "Cube" fresh water tank under the galley sink (inside the cabinet under the sink, at the bottom left of the above pic). I'm not sure if that's what you are asking though...............There is also a horizontal, brown water, holding tank under the rear of the trailer.

In order to clear the slide on the SD and SL models they had to lay the propane tanks on their side.

What does it mean to slide out? I have seen two TM's with the sections which extend the length of the trailer. Does the slide out increase the interior room of the trailer? Is the SL model available on new models? A video would be great to illustrate the concept.

Yes, the slid-out does increase the interior room. However, you loose the forward bed.

The SL model is available in the new trailers.

Have you visited the TM website?
http://www.trailmanor.com/WebDocs/fo...ing-index.html

There are some videos in there, if you search around. Also look on www.youtube.com search word, "Trailmanor"

If you go to the Trailmanor web site they show all the floor plans and if you click on the SL floor plan a picture will show on the right side of the web page. The thing to note about the SL model is the tanks need to be removed to fill. I was told this when I bought my SL and I was not sure they were telling me the correct stuff. But a few months later I was in a RV Supply store and on the new tanks it was printed "Horizontal tank must be filled in the vertical" So FYI.

As the TM is expanded, does the front slide out?

The front slide on the SD and SL models is pulled out by hand after setting up the shells and pulling out the rear bed platform. All of which is a lot easier then it was on our pop-up.

FYI - never accept older propane tanks if offered. Most places will no longer fill tanks without the overfill protection device, or OPD, that prevents over-filling the tank with liquid that can result in a hydrostatic failure (explosion) if overheated.

The horizontal tanks have the OPD, which is used when the tank is filled vertically. If they don't have one, you will find out the next time you try to have it filled.
