Does bumper drag when backing up hill?
Hi,
Someone mentioned that the dip in the bottom of my driveway may force the bumper of the 2619 to drag and even prevent the entire rig from going up the hill. Any suggestions to prevent this? Is the bumper easy to take off and put on again later? Or are there special wheels that can attach to the bottom of the bumper that would lift the TM's rear end when backing up a hill. I don't think it is just my hill that will cause problems as there are many places with dips and valleys to drive over. Whew--this is not as easy as I thought it would be. I may be able to adjust the hitch so the back goes up, but this seems like a lot of work to do each time I go up/down my hill.
All of you are so wonderful and helpful. I do appreciate all your comments.
Have a great day, Kathy Paris

better to put in some ramp material, ie some 2 x 12s or similar
You did not say what year yours is, your might alleviate the problem with a lift kit on an older model
also, check if your trailer is level when on the flat, you might be able to lower your hitch a little
last, consider releasing the wdh bars from the hitch which should lower the tongue and and raise bumper a little

I've read about some people that mitigate a driveway dip by putting wood across it, from street to driveway, in essence flattening out the dip just for when you're pulling in or out.
I don't know if something like this might work for you?

Can someone measure something for me?
Hi,
If possible, can someone measure their 2619 or 2720 from the middle of the tire to the rear bumper? And possibly the height of the bumper from the ground when the TM is level?
I have a steep driveway and am trying to figure out if I can back one of the TM's up my hill without it dragging. It was okay when my neighbor backed his large boat up my hill. His ground clearance at the very back was 10" (the motor) and it cleared by several more inches; the length from the middle of his back wheel to the motor was 7'.
Thanks for your continued help. If this works, I am getting one as soon as they go on sale again (they had a sale this past July). Do you know if they have other sales throughout the year?
Have a terrific day, Kathy Paris

What part of the bumper do you want the height of? The drag-braces at the bottom?

Hi Bill,
I am not sure what drag-braces are, but if they hang beneath the bumper, I think the height to them would be what I would need. I just don't want anything to hit the bottom of the TM.
Thanks for your help (again), Kathy
