Default Stuck Light Bulb

Any ideas how to get a bulb out that is jambed without breaking it ?
One of the bulbs behind the sofa is stuck and I can not get it out. Have tried everything short of taking the darn light fixture out

You can try putting a small bit of lubricant or PB-Blaster type material in the socket, or even something like WD-40, let it soak for a bit and then try to get it out. That's messy, and you'll have to clean out the socket and fixture well when you're done, but you can do it.

I'd probably put a bucket under the light and break the bulb by putting a towel over it and crushing it with a pair of pliers. Then I'd try to unscrew the base with a pair of needle nose pliers. If unscrewing it doesn't work, which would be surprising, then I'd break the base with the pliers and unwrap it out of the socket.

If it does break you can always try unscrewing it with a chunk of potato. My grandma mentioned that years ago and I recently had a problem in the boat and tried the spud. It actually worked

I've heard of that method too, now that you mention it. Glad to hear it works!

Thanks for the replies. I had to break it. It just would not move.
As soon as I broke the bulb the base fell out.

Probably because it knew the potato would be coming next!
