Hopefully you are using a high quality vacuum breaker between the hose and that faucet to prevent the Thetford from contaminating your home water supply (and perhaps your neighbors')......

Flush king does pretty much the same thing, that's what I use, straight into the sewer access/cleanout port in my front yard.

Just for the discussion, there are macerators that can be purchased. I know almost nothing about them, save that they purport to grind down the solid waste so that a standard garden size hose can be used for draining the tank.

I don't even have a separate tank, since my longest outing has yet to fill the Thetford (and that's with 2 kids and DW and myself using it for "both" purposes, almost exclusively while camping), I just dump at the dump station on the way out and rinse at home. If ever I found myself in a need, however, I'd get a 10 gallon blue tote with wheels and call it a day.

I will be buying a new tote! I see the Thetford 11 gallon is almost the same size as the Barker 10 gallon and has larger wheels. Has anyone used the Thetford? It's also a little better deal on Amazon prime, so I thought I would go that way unless I get some negative feedback. Thanks for all the replies.

I like my Barker. And if you google it some auto supply stores like jc whitney sell it cheaper than on amazon. Mine also fits in my spare tire rack, don't think the Thetford will. Maybe you don't want to store it there, but that s an option with the Barker.

Thanks for the replies. Am I missing something here moaboy. Where do you keep your spare tire? Or is there a way to hold both?

The spare tire holder is underneath the TM on the driver side with access on passenger side. Yes, I can snugly put my Barker next to the spare tire in the rail that comes across the underside of the TM. Not the easiest place to get it out, but sure gets it out f the way.

I ordered the Thetford 11 gallon tote. It is almost identical in size to the Barker, weighs about 4 lbs more (reviews note thicker walls than Barker) and is about $5 cheaper. I'll let the forum know how it works out after I use it.
Not sure how to rig it, but would love to have the same kind of rotating spout that is on Thetford cassettes. That would be a lot easier to dump into vault toilets.

Got the Thetford 11 gallon tote today. It definitely is a heavier gauge plastic than my old 15 gallon Barker and I think the larger wheels and thicker axle will be better too. I am now ready to "woosh" in style!

We carried our Barker Tote in the spare tire holder for several years. Then year before last a passing motorist kept pointing down as he drove past. We pulled over and our barker tote had shifted enough in the holder and the road burned a hole through a corner of it.

Mine fit so tightly it was a real pain to get it out. So I quit putting it in the spare tire rack, but could if I needed to stick it away.
