I'll feel a little better about saving the plumbing if I ever get a blowout over on that side. I will also change out my tires to load D next time I replace them.

You did a great job, now just wait for the orders to come in. I built a prototype out of wood and took it to a welding shop, but they wanted $200 to build it out of aluminum. I put some mud flaps on but this would be better. Maybe you can sell the design to the factory and they can make them available to people that don't have the ability to build for themselves?

I hate to admit defeat but I am having no luck finding mud flaps for our TM. We plan to do more than that to protect you know what but mud flaps would be a good start. I've looked and looked here and everyone so casually talks about adding them but I'm not seeing what and from where others have used.
Thanks once again in advance,
Malinda

Did they have them in stock at the store? I think we have everything but Pep Boys nearby and so far, have only found the ones for specific cars and trucks.
Thanks!

I found some 1' by 18" generic mud flats online at Gemplers. They are 1/4 inch thick so should provide good protection for the sewer valves. I used several large (1/8") pop rivets to attach them. I've only done the driver side so far. Hope to have new tires before camping next spring so may delay adding the other one.
By the way, my '03 has a pretty sturdy boxed frame member behind the tire. I seem to recall that newer models just have a steel plate that sticks out from the frame. Don't know if that will affect the attach point.
Good luck.

I bought a large heavy duty one that's used on trucks, 24" x 24" I think, and cut it in half then to length. Hope the thicker rubber will offer enough protection. You can find them in any auto parts store.

Obviously I can't It must be me. Surely both of the auto parts stores I went to can't both be totally lame. Although clearly, it's difficult to get good help around here.
