we will be buying a travel trailer in August or September. We have done the info overload thing all summer. Finally we are down to a few types and manufacturers. One we loved was Forest River Flagstaff 23fbs. the other is TrailManor 3023.
We have not seen a TM inside yet. we will visit a dealer nearby on Saturday. We did look at a used 2619 that is for sale. The owner did not open it for us since it is smaller than we want. He used it 5 times and said it was great.
My concern is about future water leakage:
6 years down the road will this unit begin to leak because of the movement of the walls?
Or will the walls come apart with frequent setting up? we plan to travel quite a bit for at least the next 5 to 6 years before we retire.
thanks for your help!

Ed&Cheryl,
Are you asking about rain water leaking in? That was my biggest concern when we got the TM. But, we have been through many hard rains (including hurricane remnants) and the joint between the roof halves has never leaked.

There are occasional leaks at windows, doors, seams, etc reported on this forum which you can easily search for. But, it does not sound like they happen more than in conventional trailers.

Or were you referring to outside (rain) water leakage?

A few people have reported minor leaks, almost always at a seam, and the application of caulk has always cured it. You can search on "LEAK" and you'll find the posts - most of them will be in the EXTERIOR forum.

Movement of the walls will not (and I think cannot) result in leaks. This is because the upper shells overlap the lower box, ensuring that water is shed outside. There is also a good seal between the shells and the box, so there is no wind-driven water penetration.

You'll see all this when you go to your dealer and look at that 3023.
