Default Light fixture full of water

The trailer (3124KS) sat in the driveway for a few weeks between trips. We didn't unfold prior to a short weekend trip to a nearby lake since we already had it clean and squared away prior to departure.

When we started to set up at the campground, the middle of the sofa was wet and DW found one of the center 12V ceiling light fixtures full of water. The water had been there a while, since fixture was rusty and water had turned brown.

I assume it's the center seal on the roof, or maybe one of the vents. Anybody else have an idea where to look?

Check the vent frame to roof seal first. Any water that gets in here will travel along the center trim piece to the front of the unit. You may have to re-caulk this area as well as the entire center seam.

Hey Wayne,

I had the same happen to mine when I first got it. It was the center seal that had failed, and the fix was to run a bead of silicone caulk down the sides of the center trim strip on the roof. Only the front shell leaked, but I went ahead and caulked the rear shell as well, no more water issues. I check the caulk integrity on a regular basis and it has been fine for over a year.

Larry & Mike,

Thanks. I'll tackle both areas ASAP. Just happen to have some sealant in the garage.

This happened to us also. It turned out the Seal under the air conditioner leaked and the water ran down into the light fixture (and other places). I was told that this was not uncommon.
