A new Trailmanor 3214 KS owner is struggling to lower the rear end with the bed for winter storage, describing it as feeling locked and unable to find clear instructions. Several experienced RVers responded with troubleshooting steps based on similar issues. The most common advice is to check for misalignment and gently jiggle the bed, as minor alignment problems can prevent the bed from sliding in fully. Other members suggest verifying that the shell locks are fully stowed, the bed and... More...

Hi All,

I just bought my trailmanor in Aug, and I am getting it ready to store for the winter. I cannot get the back end with the bed to go down, feels like it is locked somewhere but not seeing where. Unable to find a step by step for closing down the trainmanor to see what I am missing? Any ideas? Also just found out no one out here works on these

Thanks

I've experienced this. I don't remember the details, but ISTR that the rear bed would slide in almost all the way, but wouldn't go the last inch. Because it was so close, it took me a while to even notice the shortfall. I don't recall what was hanging up, but the answer turned out to be to jiggle the alignment of the bed until it would suddenly slide in the rest of the way. For me, the problem happened 3 or 4 times in a row, then suddenly went away.

I hope this contributes to a solution.

Thanks, mine will only go in an inch and no farther

Just to clarify, you can’t push the back shell down, correct? The shell locks are fully stowed in the down position? The bed is pushed fully in and the support arms are against the lower box wall?
I would look at the lift arms to make sure there’s nothing blocking them from moving from a vertices position to a horizontal position?
Make sure there’s nothing between the lower box wall and the aft shell walls. This update video shows set up and take down.

One more thought - has the entry door been set to the proper position for closing down the inner shell? On several occasions I have forgotten to secure the entry door and found the inner shell would lock up after a short travel distance.
