Where is everyong going this year?

Spring break week in KY visitng family,
the Texas Hill county regional rally in April (our first),
some local state park weekends in May,
and about 2.5 weeks in June/July at Zion National Park (meet family there, too).

It would be kind of fun to go to a TrailManor Rally. Compare notes and what-not. Maybe we can make the one in SC this fall.

We found out about Beth Page at the recent RV show in Va Beach and plan on going the in the near future with the Family Camping and RVers Group. We are heading up near there this weekend (Cheatam Annex). We will be going to Jubilee in June.

Trips

Hi all,

Our trips so far this year consist of Vegas (Oasis RV Resort) done in Feb, Pismo Beach, March. Redding CA May, Brownsville in May.

Our son is involved with archery and most of the trips are for Archery events.

Danette :p

Is it Spring yet?

Hi Everyone!

Trips coming up for us include WDW (Ft. Wilderness), the Staunton VA KOA, possibly Cherrystone and BethPage. Maybe Waynesboro (Shennandoah) for hiking with the dogs. :)
(They got new dog hiking packs for Christmas and they are eager to use them! ;) )

The only reservations we've made so far are for Seacliff Beach in July (10 miles from our house).

We usually head somewhere north during the summer. We have a lot of relatives (some of them are getting up there in years) in Oregon and Washington that we like to visit. One of them has a trailer and likes to dry camp at a lake in Oregon, can't recall the name of the lake, but they invited us to come up there this summer and camp with them.

I've been thinking about a trip to Yellowstone too....

So I guess we'll be heading north (or kind of northeast).

I can't wait until we're retired and the kids are out of college.....and then hopefully we'll be filling in those US states on our "been to" map.

I'd love to go to the TM get-together in CO, but I don't think I'll be able to. But you never know...I might just pack up the TM and head out there with my two teenagers! Where is the get-together in CO? Can you get last-minute camping spots there?

Well, we no longer own a TM, but we enjoyed ours for 3 years and have fond memories. We are planning a 3 week vacation taking us from our home in Northeastern CA into Oregon, starting the day after Easter, returning home at the end of the first week of May.

We plan to spend 2-3 days a McCloud Dance County RV Park (McCloud, CA) on our way to Oregon and then 2-3 days there before we return home. In between we will spend 3 days in Bend, OR, a couple of days at Silver Falls State Park, then to the Oregon Coast near Florence for about 3-4 days, 3 days at Oak Hills Golf Club & RV Resort north of Roseburg before heading back to CA.

Anyone interested in meeting us a one or more of these locations are welcome to ask for more specific information as to when and exactly where we will be along this route.

Paul - Silver Falls is such a nice park! We've made several day trips there but have never camped there. My mom used to take me there when I was little. There should be a lot of water in the falls at that time of the year; we usually go there in June or July when there's not much water. One year the tulips in Woodburn bloomed early (over Easter break) so we were able to see them...quite a sight to see...

We've been to Silver Falls also, and it is beautiful. If you're in that area for very long, there are quite a few covered bridges around there which are very scenic. I have pictures of both on my WebShots site if you're interested. http://community.webshots.com/user/erdman_jf They're on about page 4 of the site - depending how yours are displayed.

Thanks for the additional information on Silver Falls and the area around it. We will use some of that info.

My older brother, now deceased, told us Silver Falls was the most beautiful park in Oregon. He moved his family to Portland in 1960 and lived in Oregon and Washington (Whidby Island) until he retired in 1990. He was not a camper, but they enjoyed seeing the sights in their home states.

We stayed overnight in Silver Falls about 4 years ago as we were on our way to Turner for a weekend rally. Loved our initial exposure to it that we are making a return trip and will spend as many nights there as we need to see all the neat stuff in the park and surrounding countryside.

Thanks again for your suggestions.

We are going...so is Ralph and Val....we are the California contingent so far...there is always room for one more!!

I'd really like to go...but it's so far away and in the other direction of where we need to go, to OR & WA. It would be fun to see you again, Larry, and meet all of the other TM board members who are going to be there. Who are Ralph & Val? Do they live around here?

Besides doing some local camping in Michigan, we're heading back to Cherokee, North Carolina for a week in the Smoky Mountains. Then we're heading over to Nashville for a couple of days, then to Santa Claus, Indiana (yes, there is such a place!) for a few relaxing days at the water park there. From there, we're heading over to Dayton, Ohio for a couple of days at the Air Force museum and air show and then back to lovely Detroit. All in all, should be a relaxing 16 days.
