I read some post on this forum that TM took the wood out of the shells beginning in some year. Did I imagine the post?

I may be wrong but I think that it was 2001. I know that the 2003 has aluminum shell frames.

BTW, there have been very few reports of issues with the wood frames. They did a very good job of soaking the frames with some sort of sealer (it may have even been epoxy) before assembly. I have a '98, it has wood frames and no issues with wood rot or structural issues.

I think wood rot on the pre 2001 TM's have more to do with "Where You Live and How Well You Maintain Your Unit" than ANYTHING ELSE!Wood is a lot more upkeep than aluminum.

Yes, left outside for years with no protection - as my unit was - you'd expect wood rot. If it had been stored correctly, it probably would have stayed in much better condition.

I just talked to the factory about this and they said wood started to be phased out in 1998 and ended in 2003 (not just the shell - throughout the trailer). So they said most, if not all, 2003's would have the aluminum framed shell.
