Don't know if other dealers will do this, but Custom RV in Anaheim, CA actually brought a TM to our house and stuffed it in the garage to see if it fit. The use of the garage was critical to the sale and they were happy to do it. Of course, we were only a half hour away, so it was relatively easy. Living in SoCal on a retirement income made commercial storage ($125 or so a month) an extremely unpleasant option. Also, according to my unusually accurate measurements the 2720SL is 18' 3" long with the swing hitch!

We live down in San Diego and Custom RV (Anaheim) did the same thing for us - a test fit into our garage. They were happy to do so and did not need any type of commitment from us prior to doing this.

Flooring Options 2720sl

Hey All,

It's me again...do you all know if I can get carpet on the 2720sl on the end where the slide out couch is located? I don't like the rubber lip on the floor in the hard wood floor option. Still have 3 months left in Iraq till I get to look at Trailmanor's in person. Thanks.

I can't answer your question, but I can tell you that we are glad we have no carpet.

We camp in the forest in forest service campgrounds. It is amazing how much dirt we sweep out the door daily. And we keep a large rubber mat directly below the steps.

If you will only camp where the pad is concrete then carpet may work for you.

I too have always thought that glowing white lip was an eyesore. Our lip is black, so it's much better. We also have carpet in that area, and it appears that it came like that new. I confident the factory or dealer would install carpet there at your request if you're buying new. And if you're buying used, it wouldn't be hard to put carpet in yourself.

Would it be worthwile to think about putting in a 4-inch wide strip of carpet across the width of the TM, positioned so that it is centered under the lip when the slide-out is slid out? If you had just a couple inches showing when the slider is all the way out, it might look like a decorative transition strip. It would cover the glowing white rubber seal. And it would seal the opening better against drafts. All while preserving the advantages of a wood floor.

Alternatively, it would be pretty straightforward to remove the white rubber strip, and substitute a black or brown one which would look more like Dave's.

Oh, well, my wife says I have no taste anyway.
