Does anyone know the earliest year that the 3124 KB had metal frames??

Presumably you are referring to the frame in the shells, and not the sturdy metal box frame that carries the entire TM? And presumably you are worried about rot? I THINK the info has been posted here, but it might take you a while to dig it out.

Yes I was referring to the shell frame! Sorry about the confusion.

I have tied digging it out, but no success yet.

My '04 has metal. It was manufactured Sept 03. Look at about year 2000.
