My 2008 2720SL was stolen yesterday. I wanted to post the information here as I know a lot of potential buyers visit this site. The TM is in excellent condition and has a custom decal on the back just under the stone guard that says Coopertown. If anyone comes across a great deal on a 2720SL without a title, or has a suspicious story, please contact me and I can easily identify the unit for you based on modifications. I’ll post more info and some pictures as soon as I am able, just wanted to get the word out quickly. I am located in Albuquerque, NM but I figure if they are going to try and sell it, since they are pretty rare, they wouldn't try it in this area.

That's terrible. Hope they get caught up with as well.

I wonder if there is any identification on our trailers that indicates the year model. Besides being written on the title.

If not, that might be another flag to look for, someone selling and they don't know exactly what year model it is.

Wow, what a bummer! so sorry! May I ask where it was stolen from? So the rest of us can have a head's up on where not to leave ours? Sure hope you find it!

That's a horrible story. I've been associated with TM campers since 2000 and can't remember a stolen incident. Very unique units and not easily fenced for cash. Small community of TM owners suggest a "new to them" owner is easily recognizable. Good luck. Keep us updated. I would also join the TM fans facebook page and share your story as well. The more BOLO ( be on the look out) the better.

Are several places you can find the serial number or a number that can be traced to the particular trailer but not going to post them on an open forum. One is a plate on the side of the trailer.

A Christmas Gift!

The TM has been recovered and is undamaged!! Yeah!!! Best Christmas gift I could ask for!!!! What a strange experience....I have stored my TM in a neighbor's driveway for two years now. The house went into foreclosure and the property manager gave me permission to continue parking it there - they liked that is helped the house look occupied. Apparently someone new in his company came by to check on the property and "assumed" the trailer was abandoned on the property, so he took it - just forgot to check with the manager first. Anyway, just wanted to explain the circumstances so everyone wouldn't worry because of the theft. New guy in big trouble, great relief for me and the holidays are back on track!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year's everyone!!!

That's great news. You can always count on us to help... Ha, Ha!

(That was just a joke, before I get blasted by some of our more serious members.)

Merry Christmas to everyone...

:)

"Never attribute to evil genius what can be explained by simple stupidity."

Now you can do around your TM and record/photograph all of those numbers. (hint - one is on the sink door).

Might be an excellent time to invest in a hitch lock too. Ya never know who could back up to your camper, hook it up and drive away!

My Brother in Law had his ALINER stolen this summer off an RV Dealer Lot in Fancy GAP VA. Was in for minor repairs and Apparently Goober forgot to put the hitch lock back on it after working on it. Dealer is located right off the Interstate so someone did a Grab and Go! Dealer called and asked if my BL had picked it up because they couldn't find it!!! Duh..Thankfully Insurance covered the loss and they replaced it with a new Casita. No fence or access gates on the lot....but did have a non working surveillance camera!!

I actually did have a hitch lock on it - one of those Reese bright yellow ones (ball into the hitch, loop goes over and sort of ratchets into the lock). It apparently took him about 5 minutes to cut it off with a hack saw. I replaced it with one from Harbor Freight that is much uglier, but has a hardened steel bar and is secured with a separate lock. At least that will take them a little longer. I think I going to put one of those boot locks on a wheel too. I know you can't stop someone who knows what they're doing from getting it, but most of this anti- theft stuff is really just a deterrent to the opportunistic thief, and that's a lot of what goes on.
Thanks to everyone for your posts, it was a pretty depressing feeling when I thought it was gone!
