The Flex is a fairly lightweight vehicle. Did it come with the factory-installed tow package option? Does it have a Class III hitch receiver (the opening is 2" square, rather than 1-1/4"). Does it have a 7-pin electrical connector? Do you have an inertial brake controller? And finally, do you have a weight distributing hitch for the vehicle? You will not be able to use a simple solid hitch.

To answer your question, the usual answer for hitch ball height is 19", AFTER you have loaded the vehicle, loaded the TM, dropped the hitch onto the ball, and cranked up the WDH.

Bill, it didn't come with the factory tow package, but I have added the factory Class III hitch, 7 pin connector and a tekonsha inertial brake controller. I am getting a WDH installed before my first outing, but will be towing the TM and TV empty to the dealer after/if I buy it.

The flex with the class III hitch and WDH is rated to 4500# and 450# tongue. I figure that should be sufficient for the 2720QB

The outside rear lights and the marker lights and looks like the porch lights . They are different shapes and have the chrome around the rear lens those were generally the led's I am just going by what type I see in camping stores that are of the LED design .
 
My memory says top of ball is at 20" unhitched and 19" hitched. Do not think with a single axle trailer it makes much difference if nothing scrapes. More important is how far the TV drops when hitched.

Mine has the factory towing package and is rated at 500/5000 but my SL/QS is a couple of hundred pounds more than the QB

Back before they had ratings I towed a lot more with a lot less. Key is to plan ahead and drive gentle.

Thanks guys. I just measured the hitch receiver and it's about 16" to the top of the square, so I'm thinking I need about a 4" rise for the ball.
 
Actually, after educating myself on google, I think I only need a 2" rise, as the ball will add an additional 2". Please correct me if I am wrong, but from what you said it seems as though the height from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on the TM is around 17"-18", and with a 2" ball, that would bring it to 19"-20" to the top of the ball. So if I measured 16" to the top of my hitch, I need a 1"-2" rise for the ball mount.

16" to top of hitch + 2" rise + 2" ball = 20" to top of ball.

Good. You are doing the right things, and I'm glad to hear it. Towing with an inadequate vehicle is sad to see.

In the 4th picture I posted, it looks like there is a wrinkle or something in the wall to the left of the top left corner of the window (between the window and the hanging cabinet). Any idea what that could be or what could have caused it? Does the TM have wallpaper on the side, and this could be a bubble in the wallpaper or something? Attached the photo again

BTW the receiver and wiring is just part of a factory towing package. Most include some or all of:
- bigger radiator
- higher capacity alternator
- bigger battery
- load leveling
- full size spare tire
- oil cooler
- trans cooler
- different springs
- bigger rear axle
- different axle ratio

I have seen many vehicles derate the towing capacity if the whole package is not there.

Heat is the culprit is what I say. Mine has it to, or did take a blow dryer to it and smooth it out they will go away . Or should mine did
 
Ohhh boy do I have a story for you all. I'll tell you guys all about it tomorrow after we (hopefully) pick up the 2009.

Thanks Craigrr, hopefully it isn't anything major and I can just smooth it out like you said. I asked the owner and he said he didn't see any bubbles, so either he didn't go look, or something...I'll find out tomorrow morning.
 
Well, the 2009 was nowhere near as nice as the owner claimed it to be. Dents and dings on the INTERIOR walls scratched down to the metal, filthy, lots of pulled out screws, "something" stuck to the toilet bowl (claimed it was never used...but the capacity indicator said otherwise), torn screens, vent fan that didn't work, we couldn't get the furnace to work, there was some separation in some of the corners, not sure if it was the ceiling/wall separating or just the moulding. Tried to close the unit and couldn't get the rear shell to latch. I was standing on one side and my dad pushing down on the other and couldn't get it to latch. Pretty much all the Velcro had been pulled from the walls, flaps were worn and some rips and tares. Essentially not "like new" like the post said. I am 99.99% sure the photos he posted were when the trailer was new. The bathtub was yellowed with age, missing water cap, broken clips....the list goes on.

Luckily I still have the 2006 in my back pocket and hopefully that one arrives this week and is in much better condition.

Was hard to say no to the solar, 5k axle, electric tongue jack and all the other options, but this trailer was used HARD and never cleaned and none of the issues were repaired by the owners...just a poorly treated TM.

Wow ... did not see that coming; it's unusual to see someone put "old" pictures up in order to sell a TM! You just confirmed why it's always better to go see the TM in question in person; you never know if you are going to find a diamond in the rough or a piece of, err, coal ...

Hopefully the 2006 TM is a better find ... good luck!
 
Sorry to hear that Brad, as you say the pics looked great. Hope the 06 is better. I know all to well about the cream puffs people say they have!
