Greetings,
I’m preparing to become a TM owner, and have found a 2720SL for a great deal. Since I have a large family I would like to convert it to the QB floor plan. Is it possible to order the parts from TM and do the conversion, or should I just buy the SL and look for a QB trade in the future?

Thank you!

Dusty

Shipping would be outrageous. But I’m pretty sure it can be done. I’ve often pondered converting my 3326 from KS to KB.

Shane, are you talking about shipping the double bed, side sofas a s dinnete? Why would that be so excessive?

Thanks!

I wss kinda thinking on the same lines as kidraz. I think an adaption of the existing sl. might be the ticket. Even a light weight sleeper sofa with privacy curtains.

The factory could probably replace one slide out with another, but that's not what you're looking for. QB doesn't have a slide, it has the permanent bed. I've not seen one in person, but I'm not sure there's an easy way to completely remove the slide from one model and then make the front wall strong enough to support the bed.

What exactly are your goals for this? I needed an extra bed in my SL so I engineered bunk beds out of a disc-o-bed cot, and it worked great. I was also very grateful to have the extra floorspace of the SL when the kids weren't sleeping. I could easily have slept 2 smaller kids on the couch, or another kid (or 2) on an air mattress/camping cot on the floor in front of the couch.

Let us have some more details...

I have the 2720 but kinda like the idea of the 2720sl. for the extra room which could convert to a sleeping area at night. Hmmm.

Look at that thread. The bunk bed(s) span the width of the space. The fold-out bed also has removable arms to make more space -- I didn't realize that until I started the project. I'm not sure how much more length the QB will have -- I don't have that model so I simply don't have that answer, but I'm sure someone else will chime in. A particularly tall person may have an issue on a QB, in which case the best bet is a mattress or cot lengthwise in the "hall"...in which case the added hall/space of the SL would be beneficial.

My family isn't particularly "tall" so it's not been an issue for us, yet.
