Interesting. I just saw a folding kayak at Sam's Club. I was going to look it up and see if there are any reviews on it. I can't remember what the brand name was. They had a display out unfolded. It didn't look like it would be the most stable kayak, but it's such a good idea.

Last summer we bought a Sea Eagle inflatable kayak and had fun with it at the lake when we went camping. It's supposed to fit 3, but I can't imagine doing that unless two of them were kids. It's super easy to inflate and pretty stable. It folds down into a compact bag that I can fit easily into our Prius, too.

It was our first kayak and the hardest thing about paddling it was getting the two of us coordinated.

I can't wait to use it again, might be able to take it out in Elkhorn Slough or Pt. Lobos when it warms up. After using it in the lake the ocean seems so cold!

I was just about to start a thread on this! I have been researching inflatable kayaks. I've looked at the Sea Eagles. Thanks for sharing.

Tequila Kayak.

We have a Point 65 N Tequila Kayak. It breaks down into 3 pieces, and can be configured as a single or tandem. It travels inside our Honda Odyssey tow vehicle.

I had not seen those before. Being convertible between single or tandem is pretty nice.

All the portable hard bodied boats are what I was interested in. I have a large dog with sharp nails and an extreme excitement of water. Unfortunately inflatable isnt do-able.

I bought the Sea Eagle. A dog's nails would be no problem for this inflatable. It is RUGGED. This isn't a pool toy type inflatable, so don't write it off because it's an inflatable. Very, very heavy duty material.

So I bought the Sea Eagle 370. Lots of fun, but NOT for windy conditions. We tried to take it out on Bimini Bay (Anna Maria, FL) and the wind picked up... Won't do that again. Not good in open bay in windy conditions. Just way to much effort to control it. It was exhausting and a little scary.

Looking forward to taking it down the Cahaba River here in Birmingham. It's perfect for that and calm lakes/calm winds.
