Hello all. Just took possession of a 2006 2720SD. Pretty nice. One owner, always under cover, owner claimed used once or twice per year, and it looks the part.
As our family evolved, we went through tent camping to motorhome glamping. When the kids moved on, we got into an Apache. Didn't really fall in love with it. Thought about a 5th wheel, but that would have required a new truck. Enter the Trail Manor.
Seeing how it has original tires, date code 2005, first order of business is to get some new tires. I've read several threads, and this looks like the optimum time to switch over to higher load rated 15", not forgetting the spare, which has been happily hanging out for almost two decades underneath. My TM has the square tube between axle and frame, and currently looks to have 4-5" of clearance between top of the 14" tire and top of wheel well. I appreciate all the great posts that helped me sort this out fairly quickly.
Apparently it has had an issue that never was resolved while under warranty. I haven't looked at any schematics yet, but one of the fuses blows every time it's lifted. Prior owner solution was to pull said fuse prior to lowering the unit down. Put fuse back in after it was in raised position. So, if anyone has had that issue, I'd be interested in hearing about it. While a janky solution, it's livable until I get my eyes on the schematic.
Be seeing you around the forums!
Thanks,
