I am living in Las Vegas and very hard to see one of TM here. I am thinking to buy one online and want to know first if 17'mean 17'. My garage from wall to door is 234" or 19' 5'. Is it going to fit? Please help. Thank you

Yes, it will fit. You could even fit a 2720 if it had the swing hitch. My garage is 19' 6" deep, and our 2720SL, with swing hitch, fits easily.

I have a 2417 Sport - and our garage is 19ft, and we have plenty of space (our previous hardwall popup only fit because there was no drywall, so we could put then end of the hitch between the studs.

Another question you should ask is how high is your opening? we had to get a new garage door for the previous pup - we went from a one piece door to a roll up door, so we would get the full 7ft we needed, and even then it barely made it. Since we have a steep driveway we needed the trailer raised a bit. Out PUP is about 6'11" with the risers and the AC.

Paul, I believe my 2417 is 18' 4" from tip of tongue to the back of the bumper. It is covered in snow at the moment, and I don't want to put boots on to go out in 15° cold to measure it. Tough to get the tape measure to hook on the corner when I have my cover on, and I sure won't get my wife outside today to help me with the measurement!

Another question you should ask is how high is your opening?

Laura is right. Assuming you have a roll-up door, the height to which the opener will raise it is adjustable. The ultimate limit is the header over the door opening. Check the spec on the TM website, and compare it to the height of the door opening below the header.

Just went into the garage and measured my 2720SL and from the back of the bumper to the very front of the hitch is really 20 ft. I have a swing hitch, but don't have to swing it as I have enough room in my garage. I think if I did swing the hitch it would be about 2ft shorter in length.

The second number is usually the actual length when folded down (my 2720SL is 19'10" without swinging the hitch.

TM is being a bit creative in the first number, unfolded my cabin is actually about 24'. Think TM really means it is the equivalent of a 27' conventional trailer which would have about 3' of tongue in front of the cabin where the stone guard on my front module is within about a foot of the TV tailgate when unfolded (cannot open completely if the TM is open while hitched).

Also that "one extra gallon per 100 miles" is probably accurate if you cruise at 55 but not if running Florida turnpike speeds. That last run to south Florida was more like a gallon more per 100 km.

A lot depend on how many you plan to camp with, what are their sizes, and how comfortable you want others to be. Then decide if you need a second bed or something with a dinette or sofa that makes into a bed.

When I sold my '70 Westfalia I described it as sleeping two friendly adults, one not so friendly adult, and one midget.

The reason I chose the 2417 is the king sized bed - and it is oriented so no one has to climb over a sleeping person to get out. That is a must have for us.

Ha ha. To me the bigger the better, I have 3 and 2 yrs old kids both just turned into those age couple days ago (they are 12 months apart) and 1 wife ( unfortunately ) but I always think of something that will grow along with us so more space more bed with no storage fee that what I come after.

If you're going to be storing it in a single bay garage, you might consider the 2417 Sport model as it's about 6" narrower.....As regular width unit would not fit thru our single door and the Sport model is kinda tight (a couple of inches clearance on either side)

PaulVegas, the trailmanor web sit has good numbers for the current models. Older models there were some slight changes to the measurements. Look at the TM web site under models, select the model and than the specs. If looking at a used TM let us know which one?

I think you can get in your garage a 2417, 2619 and 2720 with swing hitch. Height would be my only concern. These trailer will fit in a normal height garage door, but there has been some owners that have shorter garage doors.

Height changed a little When they went to 15" tires and lift kits were added. Some owners added lift kits. So if you are looking at used you need to figure out if the owner added a lift kit. But in most cases with these additions they fit in a normal garage door.

The older 2720 with the rear square tube bumper is 20' 3" where the new style plastic bumper is 20' 1". Subtract 2' for swing hitch. I think this is true of all the models they were 2-3" longer with the square steel tube bumper and 2' shorter when stored with the swing hitch. The 2417 is a little thinner than the 2720 and 2619. There is a low profile AC unit on some new models where most older models have a taller AC unit.

My 2720 with 15 wheels fit under my 7 foot door with at least an inch to spare....
I'd go as big as will fit in your garage. Space is a valuable commodity especially if one has kids.
