If you had a month off, where would you take your TM?

1) Ontario Canada, Kingston area, to visit my ancestorial home (on this continent)

2) Tennessee for a TM factory tour

3) Durango Colorado, visit relatives and ride the great Durando/Silverton steam train again.

4) Any other place that has great steam train excursions

5) The pacific northwest

Hmmmmm.... looks like I'll need to take more than a month off ;D

I second Durango. Another great steam train ride that can't be missed in that area is the Cumbres and Toltec. 64 miles on way, over almost a 10,000' pass, miles of 3% grade with a double-headed train. Noontime stop for lunch. Outstanding. A google search will turn up info on them.

I'd sure need a lot more than a month. Took 3 weeks 2 years ago for a quick tour. My timeframe would need to be measured in years. :)

friscomike,

regarding your honeymoon trip to Maine in February, did you find you enjoyed the outdoor events or the indoor events more?

Eastern Canada and Maritimes down to New England starting about mid-September. Anybody want to go this year?

A vote for Tennessee

We vote for Tennessee for (1) a tour of the TM factory (2) a tour of Dixie Gun Works, and (3) a tour of Civil War battlefields.

And, by the way, the scenery ain't bad either. :)

Happy camping,

Michael
