I found a 2011 2720 TM for sale down the road and jumped at it a month ago. It needed the usual work. I'm in the process of cleaning and patching holes inside. Painting and repairing the flooring. I installed a blackwater tank and a low profile rv toilet often used by others here. (Thank you)

Im about half way done with a crazy 400w solar installation. My shore power line will be plugged into my 24v inverter which will feed all the 110v and 12v power in the rig. I have 3) 24v lifepo4 battery packs to replace the 2) 6v deep cycle batteries. I will then run a new shore power line to feed my inverter 110v

I installed a *16" metal bearing drawer slide on the bathroom folding wall to fix my original broken plastic slide rail. That worked slick i must say.

I need to buy a sewing machine and learn how to use it next to make new curtains.

I have a big scrape on the drivers side i need to repair from when its opening up and closing down on the rear shell. Thinking about spraying some bed liner in that area once i figure out what caused it. It opens and closes good for me right now. I may as well repaint the exterior at that point anyways as my graphics are pretty cooked and cracked.

That's about it for now.

Joel

Welcome to the Trailmanor forum. Can you explain more on that blackwater tank? Did you use just 4" black pvc as the tank?
On that scratch, I'd run my hand under the front shell street side and feel for either a screw or piece of metal. That's a deep scratch and you should be able to follow back from where the scratch starts.

I copied this post on the topside and i used 3" on the bottom side trying to make the run as long as possible.

On the scratch, i dont feel anything in that area yet. Im going to tape over the scratch and see if anything rips the tape but i think it may have been fixed already? I certainly didnt feel anything scraping the 2 times ive opened it and closed it.

I think i found the issue. It was a screw on the trim piece that holds the vinyl velcro flap in place inside. The last 2 screws had pulled out and the trim was about a 1/2" from where it needed to be. Some wood wedges helped me force it back in place and then i could get several more new screws to keep it there. .

Now, how to deal with the scratch? Im thinking sand it, bondo, primer and dark battleship grey bed liner paint for the damaged area. Total trailer repaint or try to color match the paint and reproduce those graphics

The factory does sell replacement graphics, but they could be pricey. Glad you found the cause.

Yeah, the guy i talked with there wanted $650 for the graphics kit. I can probably fix them up a little with some touchup paint.

Amazon sells lots of generic RV "swoosh" graphics. Depending on how badly you need them, this might be an alternative.

Bill

Yeah. I think im going to try and salvage these with paint. The other side is in good shape and i dont want to sand this whole rig out . lol
I got the damage fixed. Time to repaint this area.

Congratulations on the nu-2-you TrailManor.

Just curious about what inverter that you used.

I installed a solar/LiFePo4 system our TM about a month ago. I'm now in the process of installing a new Progressive Dynamics 55A charge controller (with charge wizard) and a Go-Power T30 transfer switch. I'm installing the transfer switch in the void, to the left of the converter. What a job getting in there to work.:new_Eyecr

I'm really regretting not buying an "All-in-one" smart charge controller/inverter. It would have made this entire install a lot easier.

Thanks, i installed the pip 2724 LV-MR all in one from mpp solar. Its 2700w @24v with 25a mppt charge and 25a utility. I love these inverters. I run 2) of the pip 48v inverters on the house system for all my 110v.

I replaced the aluminum trim piece at the bottom of the front shell. Mine had been damaged to the point where the metal wall under the fiberglass had kinked. I was able to get the metal wall back in shape and there was no fiberglass damage but i could not straighten out the bend in the trim piece. I ordered an 8 ft chunk of 1.25" x 1.25" x1/8" 90 degree angle and cut it to fit. Some fresh paint and a new $32 custom ebay sticker and it almost looks respectable again.

Well done sir, well done. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you! Its been a lot of work but its coming together. I got the yuge scratch down the drivers side pretty much fixed and i think i fixed the cause. Not much i can do to get the scratch out of the bathroom window but its better. The paint is still wet so it looks a little weird right now. Finished painting the inside and repairing the floor. The toilet and blackwater tank are done. Down to the filthy couch now. I ordered a fake leather futon couch that should fit with some modifications.

Finished putting my batteries together and bolted them down with nutserts (i love nutserts). I got the inverter and other components mounted and wired. Its 5pm and the sun is behind the trees next door and the system is charging my batteries right now with the camper inside my shop at 2 watts. Basically 3) 24v batteries in parallel for combined 315ah with 400 watts of panels on top.

I should be able to plug my shore power line into my inverter now and run my whole trailer minus the AC. But the inverter could run the ac i think at least for a while.

Edit: I wired the rv shore power into my inverter and the AC does in fact run fine with it only drawing 44% load on my inverter. Now i can feed my inverter 110v AC from a new shore power line from the shop. This inverter can not feed back to the grid, so no transfer switch is needed.

Holly cow..... How many amp hours?

Are you using solar panels at all or are you just charging it up before you leave?

I wish that I would have gone with an all-in-one controller.

315amp hours with 400 watts of panels on the rear shell

is it 315ah @ 24V = 7560wh?

That sounds right. Yes. :)

And the batteries weigh maybe a few lbs more than the stock 2) 6v lead acid batteries.

The stock 2) 50w panels weigh more than these 4)100w panels. Plus 30 lbs for inverter, wires and small bits.

You could run your whole house off of those batteries if you had more solar.

I just have 230ah of LiFeP04 @ 12V (2,760wh) and 200w of solar. I can run anything but the A/C in the TrailManor. When we aren't camping, I'm going to plug our 2 house fridges into the TrailManor. No sense in letting all that power sit idle.

I have 4000 watts of panels on the house now with 640ah lifepo4s at 48v for a 30kwh pack. It runs all my 110v needs on a sunny day. I run Ac, hot water, lights, fridge, freezer when sunny or a pellet stove in winter plus some lights and the fridge for a few days if the power goes out.
