Fresh Battery Issues

I have a 2013 2720 trailmanor that I have driven around the country a number of times over the past few years. After my last trip at the end of March I left it unhooked for about 8 weeks.
When I can back to it my batteries were dead and upon taking them to the store to be checked they were pronounced permanently dead.

I bought 2 new batteries like the ones I had before and when I hooked them up the interior panel just shows dashes.
While the lights will turn on, they are dim and nothing else will turn on at all. The 12v sockets will light up, but can't run anything.

I had the new batteries tested and was told they are not the problem.

Any thoughts?

Thank you for your time.

They are 2 6v batteries hooked together to make a 12v
I'm with Bill. Are you sure you have the positive terminal of the first battery tied to the negative terminal on the second battery? In order to have 12 volts that is how it has to be wired.

Yep, nope. I am dumb.

That is what I did. I hooked it up wrong once I got the new batteries.

I found an old picture I sent to a friend when they got their TM and low and behold. Wrong.

Thank you all for your time and attention.
