Factory Installed Flush Toilet

We have a 2009 3023 TrailManor. We recently had the factory replace the old recycling Thetford toilet with a Dometic flush toilet. They didn't give us any instructions on how to empty it, and we can't get them to respond to repeated phone calls. The attached picture shows the set-up. The toilet sits on a "black box" which we assume is supposed to empty into the black tank. We don't see any way to release the sewage in the black box into the black tank. There are wires attached to the right side of the black box which we assume are intended to indicate how full the box is. There does not appear to be any way to read how full the box is. The old control panel we have measures how full the gray water tank is. We are wondering if it now measures how full the black box is. Does anyone know how to release the contents of the black box into the black tank? Does anyone know how to "read" when the black box is full and needs to be dumped into the black tank?

How can I tell when the tank is getting close to full and needs to be dumped? There doesn't seem to be a gauge anywhere.

I have basically the same set-up in my TM.

I get a flashlight, turn off the water and push the flush valve down on the toilet. That allows me to look inside the tank (flashlight) and visually see the water level. After awhile, you'll get a pretty good idea where the water level is.

If you're not squeamish, yo could make yourself a little "Dip stick" and keep it in a tube by the toilet.

I put a Mopeka Bluetooth ultrasonic tank level monitor on mine. You just place it on top or the bottom of the tank.

So does this toilet need to be charged or is the water line from the fresh water tank? I still have the Thetford but want to change it out….
Any toilet that has a holding tank, it's a good idea to add some water (in this case, maybe a quart) and a few ounces of some toilet chemicals.

My personal preference is to add chemicals only when we are camping the outside temperature is over 80* and for over 2, nights.

The recirculating threadford toilet needs to be charged. But if you have a holding tank style toilet I usually just put a qt of water and some toilet chemicals before I store it.
