Drones, Quadcopters and Helis, Oh my...

Looked like the time mine encountered high wind as it climbed above my roof line and blew into my in ground pool., landed on a solar cover with no damage. glad I had the cover on or it would have become a submarine!:)

mecicon,

I don't think your dog was very impressed with the copter!

Those sound awsome, and I may have to check one out eventually.

Curiosity, how powerful are those things as far as payload carrying? I assume one big enough to carry any kind of extra weight would be in a much higher price range than the average hobby versions that are so popular now?

Probably just my usual paranoia, but everytime I hear the word drone, I think of "widely available, cheap, undetectable, terrorist air force, coming soon to a town near me..."

:)

All very cool, but it would be very expensive 12 gauge trap shooting practice for the ones that stray over my yard. (Just kidding, of course we are inside the city limits).

Now if we were to move out further, it's flyers beware...

:D:D

You are getting better with it! How many hours do you think you have spent getting your skills to this point? (I have yet to get my helicopter off the ground and stable, although I have not taken it out of the box in 5 years.)

From what I have read it takes 20~ hours to have rudimentary skills I have 50~ hours (guessing) I also bought a simulator software package and have been using that when it's wet, cold, windy or dark.
