Does the BAL leveler work or is needed on TMs?

I have a BAL leveler to level and help stabilize my popup. Works good for that. Does anyone use one on their Trailmanor? :cwmddd:

I use the TM's jacks mostly, but use the BAL leveler if the slope is bad enough (maybe 10% of the time). Sometimes the TM has to be lifted enough by the jacks to get the BAL under the tire (I have 14" tires). A link to the CW page:

I use a BAL leveler at home. I don't have a level place to set up the TM and do not have the luxury of backing straight in to the storage area so I can't use the board under the tire system. I have used the leveler at some camping areas only if the site is way off level. I can get the leveler under the tire without using one of the jacks but it is much easier to when the jack takes some of the weight off of the suspension. Link to BAL:

Thanks for info.

So if I get a TM I will keep the BAL Leveler.

The BAL leveler is rated for 3500 pounds. It is not required for the TM. I have one that I used on my tent camper, but do not carry it with me for the TM because of the BAL leveler weight. After you look at the various threads on leveling, you will have to do it a few times to figure out what works best for you.

I couldn't get the BAL leveler to work on my 15 inch tires. They were just a tiny bit too big. I ended up giving it to my brother for his pop-up.

I saw that the BAL leveler was only good for lighter weight so opted for a pillow type leveler used for pop-ups. You use a foot pump to raise it up and it works great!

resurrecting the dead here on this post, but I too have a Bal leveler from my popup, I asked TM if it can be used on a 2720SD , I got a reply from Sonja, saying yes. here is her reply in case others have been thinking about using theirs. I am going to try it in the driveway before I take it out just to make sure it does the job.

Sorry for the delay,
Yes a BAL leveler could be used. Its recommended although to use a regular level and adjust the jacks. Both methods are fine.

Thanks,
Sonja

Comment: Hi, I recently purchased a 2720SD
with 14" tires and was wondering if I could use a BAL Leveler on a trailmanor to level the unit side to side ?

I considered the BAL Leveler but opted for the "Andersen Camper Wheel Chock and Leveler" instead. First thing I do when I reach the camp site is to determine the low side (based on the bubble level on the electric jack). I put the leveler under the wheel on the low side and inch the vehicle and trailer forward until it's level (in the street-to-curb direction). When leveled in the one direction, I chock the leveler and the other wheel, disconnect the TV and level the trailer fore-and-aft (using the electric jack). Finally, the stabilizers are cranked down.

I'm guessing this is quicker and easier than jacking up the low side another way.

Ditto for me. I camp alone much of the time , I own both, but since going to 15 " tires BAL is useless. I like the Anderson Leveler.

Anderson Leveler

A BIG YES for me too. Works really well and easy to use. In fact I have one brand new and in the box for $40.00 plus shipping. Why you ask? I ordered two for our 3326 TM tandem axle and found out that it does not fit between the wheels so it works just great with the one. I added a "Large" level on the front of the TM so I can see it in the rear view mirror so I can pull up to the exact spot by myself but it is easier with two.

I tried my bal leveler that I used to use on the popup, it works great and fits the 14" tires well. plus doubles as a good wheel chock. lifted the TM with no problem.

The BAL will work on the 15" wheels, but really only if you pull up onto a block, like a lynx leveler, first. Then the BAL will easily slide under and be usable.

I had one, I did this for a long time. Then, I stopped, because the BAL screw started skipping and stripping, and it was a hassle. I moved back to a 3-step leveler, put a level gauge on the front of the TM, and just back up the steps until I'm close. Finish it with the corner jacks. Much faster and easier than the BAL, for my purposes. But I used the BAL for 2 years before, so there's nothing wrong with it.

I have heard the screw does strip out if using a power tool to do it. I figure I have it , might as well use it, save a little cash along the way for other TM fun things. Lol

Yep. I used a power tool -- too much work doing it manually, took too long for me.

We like the Lago type blocks, with an integrated chock. We set them up when pull into ther cs by reading the level stuck on the camper. Set up the blocks with a chock to stop us when positioned. Backup or pull forward and we are done.

There are so many uses for the blocks. Use for leveling the table, under the stabilizers when they will not reach the ground, build a step when the first step is to far off the ground, use under a flat tire to reduce how much you have to jack, etc...

I use the BAL each time I camp. You just have to put one leveler block under the low tire to accommodate the 15" tires. It's a great wheel chock and allows a perfect level
