I just bought Goodyear marathon 14 inch tires from Walmart and the date code shows made in 2013. I questioned them and they said they sit in a warehouse and are like new. Should I return them or will they be fine?

Made in 2013? That is 5 years ago. I would return them on that basis alone. Read this from the Tire Safety Group.

I have read (but I have not confirmed) that tires sold by WalMart are warrantied by Walmart, but not by Goodyear. You'll have to judge whether this is a good thing or not. I have no experience with a WalMart guarantee.

A week or so ago, we had a thread here in this same sub-forum about someone who bought tires directly from the Goodyear web site, and had them delivered to a local tire shop (probably a Goodyear shop, but I'm not sure). I was under the impression (check me on this) that the price was lower than the local dealer, and included mounting and balancing (but not steel valve stems, which you should insist on).
