Collection of things to look for in a used TM

Fisrt attempt to collect several "things to look for in a used TM" threads for potential new owners of a used/new TM. Was a little bored this afternoon and tried to collect as many threads as I could find on buying a TM. I also went through about 5 years of posts and came up with a set of results that were completely different.

My focus was on how to determine whether or not you were buying a functionally useful TM without problems. So I've concentrated on things to look for that would indicate problems with the unit.

I was also thinking that we should have another grouping of information on "what floorplan should I choose".

We also might want to have another grouping of information on "what year did they stop putting wood in the shells".

And also "How can I tell how much to pay for a used TM?"

Please give us your input on this, everyone. How can we make this board more useful to potential buyers?

When I bought my TM I knew what floorplan I wanted. I just wanted to make sure that everything worked and that it was in good shape.

Let me add that I along with some help with the main owners manual have found most if not all the accessory manuals etc for a newer TM which could be handy for a new used TM owner.

Good start maybe someday one of us will have time to put a detailed check list together.
