Buying used - What is the best year?

Hi present TM owners,

What are the pivotal years when buying a used TM? I am looking for a used 3023 or 3124KB. I have read that in the early 90's TM went from wood frame to metal, etc. When considering a TM between 2003-2008 were there any pivotal years of major improvements? Obviously the latest year should have the latest and greatest, but I am looking for major changes.
