6 Lug axle on a 2004 3124 KS?

I just looked at a 2004 3124 KS and as I was looking for the date code on the tires I noticed that they were 15" 225 tires and at the rims were 15" 6 hole. Shouldn't the rims and the axle have been 5 hole?
The label on the trailer said they came with 225's and 15" rims
Was this an option?
I thought it should have come with 14" wheels in 2004.
Unfortunately the trailer was pretty trashed or I might have made an offer.

I think you will find that the axle is a 5,200 lbs. You need 6 lugs to carry the weight.

I have six lugs and my axle is rated at 3500lbs. I don’t know why, I have not dug into it cause its a non issue for me. If I need parts, I figure I’d reach out to the OEM and get guidance.
