We have a Rockwood popup now but were thinking of going to a hybrid for a month trip out west. We have found out we won't be able to camp in Yellowstone or the Grand Tetons with tent ends (bears). On our last camping trip we were beside a large Trailmanor and a light bulb went off in our heads. Easy towing, less wind resistance, easy setup for overnight stops without hooking up electric and water.
We will be on the go for most of the trip, just stopping at night getting something fast and greasy for supper and on our way in the morning although I'm sure we'll have 2-3 day permanent stays in NP campgrounds. My wife says I'm lazy for asking this question but hey if you don't know you don't know.
What is the height of the lower edge 2720 front campartment from ground level. the reason I ask is I have a 09 Silverado with just a cover over the bed and was wondering if the front will flip up over the bed without unhooking the hitch (8 foot bed), thanks for replies.

I do not know exact height, close to 4 ft though. The front bed does not extend beyond the hitch ball/coupler. I can open my TM without unhitching the tow vehicle.

Ditto to the previous post. There is no clearance issue with the TV when connected to the TM. You discovered the TM the same way we did. We were in out popup when we saw someone in the campground folding their TM up before leaving. Darnedest thing I have ever seen. We had one a month later!

Same here,
started with a popup, one of them was a rockwood also, tryed a hybrid, a reg tt, now on our third tm, we are just over the mountain if you need to look at one,
looking to buy one?:d

Thanks for the replies, the TM just keeps looking better all the time. Staying hitched fits right in with our "shoot from the hip" overnight stays, thanks again.

I'm sure someone here will either correct me or agree. I would disconnect the trailer plug from the tow vehicle overnight. I believe you can run the TV battery down by using the 12v system on the TM, specifically the refridgerator if it's set to 12v mode.

Depends upon how the TV is wired. Many have a relay that disconnects the trailer from the battery when the key is removed and/or the engine is stopped.

Look under "Charging Question" comment 2. I gave a short explanation to see if your TV power is disconnected from TM when engine turned off. Not all are and this will deplete the TV battery, especially if fridge is on DC.

We have left the TM connected for an overnight stop a few times. It works fine. We have a 2010 F150 with a bed cover.

We also leave it connected the first night if we pull into an RV park late at night. We try to be considerate of the people around us and this way we avoid a lot of the noise of setting up.

On ours, a 3023, there are only a few inches of room between the TM and the end of the truck when the front of the trailer is up. Therefore we move to the side as we are raising it.

No problem setting up and staying hitched when I tow my 2720 with my minivan or SUV.

If you aren't towing level, then you won't be setting up level unless you disconnect.

Somewhere I read that it is better to be a little low in the front when towing than to be a little high. If this is true then it is easy to disconnect and crank the front up to where it is level. Then in the morning you just crank it back down, assuming you did not move the TV.

It takes not more than 5 minutes to pull the TV from alongside the TM out to the front, back it in and connect it. I don't worry about trying to save 5 minutes. I'm lazy, but not that lazy.
