So I am not sure why Tesla thinks that 4% is OK. Maybe there is something different about Teslas. Or maybe it is just hype. I personally wouldn't come anywhere near doing it - but that's just me.

They now have computer technology that can control trailer sway through braking and steering programming. Having said that, I can't imagine 4% being safe. On a 4,000# trailer that would be 160# of tongue weight. I'd think that not only swaying would be an issue the the trailer would buck all over the place.
