NORTHWESTERN ILLINOIS it is $1.99. for 87. It is the same price in southwestern WI too. I thought this would be a good topic to start with all the summer camping trips in the works for everyone.

In Colorado, 87 Octane is "midrange" or "plus" because of the altitude..."regular" is 85 Octane. Here on the front range (e.g. Denver, Colo Spgs), 85 is running around $1.95 and 87 about 10 cents higher. However in the mountain communities where people go to vacation, it's quite a bit higher. Vail (along I70) is currently the highest with 85 Octane costing $2.25 and 87 Octane about $2.35. Nothing like California but still pricey because tow vehicle mileage really drops when towing in the mountains.

Here in Mexico we have always paid more for gasoline. However, we are now catching up. Today the price of regular unleaded here in Monterrey is 2.01 per gallon with the 11.6 peso exchange rate. In the border cities, the price is adjusted to match those on the U.S. side.

I'll bet you that you're happy you're a Trailmanor owner not driving a 350 and towing 10,000 lbs or driving a 35 ft. Class A. The prices may change our Trailmanoring habits but I don't think it will stop us 8).

South Mississippi
Regular $1.83
Mid Range $1.93
Premium $2.03

Oh my aching wallet!!!!!!!!!!!

Just went down to Alburg, Vermont on Tuesday and while there, picked-up some "cheap" gas @ $1.899/gal, or equivalent to about $2.62 in our Cdn dollars.

Gas in the Montreal area sells for about $0.96/litre or about $3.62 for a U.S. gallon. And we just traded up from a Ford Focus to a minivan in the hopes of buying a TM. Timing is everything!

Locally in our small town in N. Central OK regular (87 Oct) 189.9 with Sam's Club in OK City 180.9. Sorry don't pay attention to the other stuff.

Here in my part of NC 87 is $1.84-cheapest today to $1.99 most expensive.

In beautiful downtown Chester, CA 87 octane is $2.359 at the "cheap" gas stations, with Plus (89) and Premium (91) running 10 cents more respectively.

Paid $2.109 in Chico, CA last Saturday (5/8) at the local Safeway store and took advantage of the 3 cent discount. :-\

Southern California - San Dimas - just paid $2.27/for reg unleaded - down the street was $2.31 for same gas... the price for crude oil just reached $40/barrel - the highest in 13 years.. that combined with calif. oil refineries not producing enough to meet our needs means we are :-X!!

even with the prices rising - we have not changed our driving habits.. wonder how high the gas would have to go before we did that?

I just read in today's newspaper that the average price of regular unleaded gasoline in the state of Illinois is $2.02 with Chicago being a bit higher and Southern Illinois being lower. I live in Southern Illinois and gas at our "cheap" stations is $1.89 for regular unleaded.

Northern New Jersey, "cheap" 87 octane is $1.84.

Gotta love my beater car - an 85 Toyota Corrolla that gets over 35 mpgs. Better than 14 in my truck. :(

But darn it all, the TM will still roll along behind us. :D

Now I don't mean this offensively, but imagine if we, as the people of the US were to put the time and energy into researching alternative power/fuel that we put into b_tching about gas prices. I know I put a lot into it.

Update on Northeastern Sierra gas prices: Susanville, CA today 87 octane was $2.339. Topped off my wife's Escape as we finished our shopping today.

Eastern Colorado I-70 travelers, be aware that at the Conoco station at exit 437, 87 octane is 2.119, where as if you go into Burlington, Same brand (Conoco) is 2.059 per gal. Pays to look inside the cities along the interstates.

Yeah, it's common for fuel to cost anywhere from 5 cents to 20 cents per gallon more at the stations right at Interstate exits. However, stations at the interchanges usually have large refueling bays with straight in approaches and can thus easily accomodate tow vehicle/trailer combinations...something that's not nearly as common with stations inside the towns and cities. Plus there's the time factor...it will often take anywhere from 5 to 15 extra minutes to find & return from a suitable station off the Interstate. If I'm trying to make some distance and make just two refueling stops each day, those excursions for slightly cheaper fuel could cost me as much as a half hour in additional travel time. Finally, given that my typical fill-up is around 20 gallons, saving 5 cents a gallon results in a mere $1 less for a tank. So, given the hassle factor (and possible dangers) of trying to get into/out of a cramped in-town station, the loss of time, and the paltry savings, I'll take the larger, handy interchange station every single time. Sure, if I lived in the town, regularly refueled there, and didn't have to worry about travel time or having room for the trailer, I'd use the cheaper in-town station. But as a traveler, IMHO trying to find a cheaper in-town station is really false economy.

just went from california to Henderson, NV.. gas at Barstow was $2.88 for the cheapie gas!

In Chico, CA today 87 octane was $2.219 at the Safeway store on Mangrove Ave. Deduct 3 cents if you have a Safeway card. :-\

Gas in Ontario, California is running about $2.33, although I have seen $2.35 and even $2.39. All for regular unleaded.
