If you have a front bed, you'd have to take off the velcro flaps and the latches, and then slide the bed in. You'd then have the tongue right underneath to step down on.
That would work well to solve the problem of a broken door knob preventing you from opening the door. Or if someone on the outside flipped the outdoor latch on the top half of the door.

In a fire, exit by the quickest means possible. For a tiny fire, I would probably risk going past it and out the door. For a big fire, that you can not go past, then opening the bunks may be viable.

Here's a question: On a new (2009) 2720SL, how does one get out in an emergency from the front couch? Let's say you're sleeping, and the stove has a fire? There's a big sticker that says "EXIT" under that front window, but it's not at all clear to me what's considered the exit? Lifting the velcro flap and wiggling out the small opening? Kicking out the window (no levers on the front window, +rock screen if it's down). Some other non-obvious escape?

Anyone know the answer to this?
