WOW!!!! Ours gets blazing hot if I put it on high. I can seer a stake in no time. I usually have to put it on low. Maybe your air vent on the burner tube needs to be opened up a little.

Another factor is how many are you cooking for. Sometimes it is just the two of us. If the kids tag along then we have 5 adults. For a cousins reunion every year then we have 22 adults, and I run three gas grilles.

Wayne,

Totally possible. It didn't come with any instructions on "tuning" it up. Next time I get it out I'll take a look at it and see what can be done. It's been through three seasons now. A couple more and I'll probably look for another grill so these posts will come in handy. The reason I went with this model is that it's pretty compact so it fits in the back compartment. Some of these others look pretty big.
