This is something that is done by the PHPBB (i.e., the discussion board) software. It is not a browser problem, and there is nothing that we, the users, can do to correct it. Although I have no detailed knowledge, it appears that the board software "shortens" the originally-posted link name to make the original post more visually appealing. The original link is still there, hidden in the background. But if you quote the original message, it copies the "visually-appealing" version into the quote - which, of course, doesn't work.
Annoying, ain't it? You have to go back to the original message to get a working link.
