July 4th Camping

We just got back from the wonderful U.P.of Michigan. We found a campground with sites right on the Lake Superior beach, maybe 30 feet from the water. It is the Ontonagon Township Park,water/elec site for $18. Vault toilets & no shower house were the downside, but we carry a camp shower bag so all was well. The lake is cold, but when you get out you dont smell fishy. We had an excellent trip and would go back again. This was our 2nd visit to the campground.

You will love the towns of Canmore and Waterton, Alberta - be sure to stop for a beer at the Grizzly Paw Pub in Canmore! But be sure to watch out for the bunnies in Canmore, and the deer in Waterton!

By the way, don't try to take any firewood into Alberta - they will confiscate it at the border, which annoyed me no end.

Thanks Bill for the travel tips, we have to check out those places.. and you saved my daughter and son-in-law from loading their pickup with enough firewood for the trip.. now we're just taking enough for the yellowstone part
