Default Re:Where are all the RV's?

I just got home, traveling from California to Sedona Az. It was a 7 hour drive. MW and I saw about 30 Rv's on the road. Normaly there would have been a couple hundred. Are the really not traveling because of the gas prices?m At a gas station the cashier said, today (Monday) was the slowest day she could remember. I wonder if the high prices are really taking it's toll.

How is it in your areas?

Getting the thread back on track ;D, yes the big coaches and 5ers have been noticeably scarcer this year and I too attribute it to the high cost of fuel. I'm not complaining though...there are few things more annoying than to be stuck behind a herd of lumbering motorhomes driving 20 to 30 mph under the speed limit on a winding mountain road.

In years past, the scenic FS campgrounds (especially those that are near water) would be fairly filled mid-week in mid-summer with out-of-staters...mostly mid-westerners and Texans. Not this year though...the campgrounds have been only half-filled mid-week and mostly by Coloradans at that.
