2000 2619

Hello Folks

I am thinking about buying a 2000 TrailManor 2619. I have not seen it yet due to distance away. I don’t know a whole lot about these campers but have always been fascinated by them. We have a 16 Acadia with factory towing of 5000 so I think I will be fine there. My question is what do I look for when considering to buy a 19 year old TrailManor. Just in conversation with the seller I will probably have to buy tires. Do I have to buy the whole tire and rim like on a pop up? Just looking for opinions on maintenance and any suggestions on this camper year. The seller is asking $5300.

First, sign up and become a full member. Best money ever spent.

Second, I think for 5,300 you should expect everything to be in great shape. Everthing should run, AC, 3 way fridge, heater, stove and oven. Tires will be 14 inch on a 14 inch rim. You just need the tire. Make sure it pops up good, the roof is [not] sagging, etc.. It is a very well made trailer so even the old ones are usually in good shape.

Thank you for the info. I think these campers would be much more comfortable than a pop up. We had a 96 Coleman back in the day.

I have a 2001 2619. I can tell you what has failed in ours which may give you a guide as to what to look for. Ours has been heavily used so that may be more important than age.

• Side-mounted AC. Failed and had to replace. Now need to replace drain pan
• Add lift kift to allow addition of 15" wheels and higher capacity tires
• Propane line from oven control to burner wore through due to vibration
• Latching pins on front stone guard lift arms wore out
• Many issues due to screws backing out due to vibration, especially under dinette table
• Dust guard on propane regulator crumbled from age, had to replace
• Check valve in city water fitting failed, replaced fitting
• Water pump head failed, replaced head
• Tabs on interior curtains pulled out
• Faucets need new washers to stop leaks

That’s great info to know. My risk is the owner doesn’t know a whole lot about the maintenance that was or wasn’t done. They are checking with the previous owner and will get back to me. It is about a 325 mile drive one way. So far I know the tires all need replaced so I will have to find a shop around the location of the camper because I’m not gonna chance pulling it any distance. Also the curtains need replaced. That’s all I know.

The year 2000 may or may not have aluminum framed walls. See if you can get the seller to take a couple of pictures inside the pocket stops. Check some of my pictures to see what I am talking about.

Wood framed walls are not deal breakers, but you do have to check those out more carefully.
