Default Check valve in city water inlet

On a recent trip we had a rare (for us) dry-camping interval.

When the water pump pressurized the system, water squirted out of the city water inlet (where you attach the hose from the campsite faucet).

I MacGuvyered it by screwing in a Y fitting I had and closing the valves on it. That got us through the stay.

But now I want to fix it. On the plumbing diagram there is a check valve at the inlet; it's pretty clear that this is what failed.

Where exactly is this check valve? Is it part of the hose connection fitting? Looking at our trailer, I see this hose connection fitting that mounts in the trailer wall, then there is a black threaded coupling, then PEX tubing. I did not see any check valve.

Thanks,
Bill

Bill,

If you carefully remove the screen on the connector you will see the check valve. I had the same issue when dry camping two years ago except mine was a slow leak. Since the system was slowly losing pressure over time, the 12 volt water pump would occasionally start then quickly stop - somewhat aggravating.

I found this replacement; https://www.amazon.com/JR-Products-3...B13VZEZ3JGDWG5

You might shop around for prices. This replacement part is a little different than my OEM but it works fine. I was able to reach in under the sink and unscrew the pex hose from the city water connection. Installing the relacement was as simple as threading the pex connector onto the back of the device.

Thanks! Great info.

I swapped them out today. The replacement item you linked to was the EXACT item from my old trailer, down to the manufacturer's logo! Very cool.

I didn't really see anything wrong with the check valve in the old one except that it seemed to be looser than the new one. Had I known it was right there, I would have tried wiggling it with my finger and see if it sealed up. Maybe there was just some debris on the seal or something. I'll keep the old one around.

Speaking of debris, I didn't have a screen on my water inlet, and the new one didn't come with one. I'm putting that on my list to acquire.

Again, many thanks for the super helpful reply.
