1995 - worth considering?
I am a newbie to RVing and TrailManor.
There is a 1995 TM that will be looking at soon. It has had a couple of owners and I have been told there is no damage. If it is in good shape - would it be worth purchasing?
I have read on the forum about the aluminum framing beginning in 2003 and beyond (with some having it earlier). Also I have read about questionable quality control after 2010 until the new owners started production in SD.
Based on this information, my goal had been to purchase one between 2003-2010 but they are hard to find in the model I want (2720) that fits my budget.
What do you all think?
By my name you can tell I live on the EastCoast which I also understand presents a challenge due to lack of availability.
TIA!

2720s are all over the place, including here on this forum. Gotta be willing to travel to get one, and be ready to pounce when one comes available. We drove 6 hours from western NY to central OH to get our 3326. What’s your budget? Wait for the right deal. Don’t jump on the first one you see if it’s not right.

Wood framing can be repaired, but it would be a major pain in the butt. That said, there are aluminum framed trailers made before 2003. My 2001 is one example. In the link to my gallery under "Frame and Structure" you will see a picture that will help you determine if you have an aluminum frame or not.

Hi - thanks for your questions and feedback! Our budget is no more than $5 and I would like to pay closer to 3-4 because we are new at RVing and figure we are going to learn along the way.
We look at this first one as a learning opportunity to figure out if we like it, if we like RVing etc. We have tent camped and thru-hiked/camped (before kids) but now with kids want something a little easier to set up than a tent.
Thanks again - if you know of any please let me know or if you have other feedback -
Sara

it all depends on condition and price. If its in good condition, maybe garage stored and within my budget, Yes...

Totally agree with that. Ours is a 1997 and we wouldn't hesitate to take it cross country. Make sure all of the appliances work.

Buying a used TM
Here's a bunch of posts about buying a used TM:

It's a bit overwhelming but lots of good info.

I would not read to much into the aluminum frame concern. Don't get me wrong it's nice. For decades, up until somewhere in the 90's there were only two trailers that I'm aware of that had aluminum frames. They were airstreams and holiday rambler's. There are a lot of wood frame trailers out in the market that are subject to the same concerns of wood rot. So it all depends on how they were maintained and condition.

Thanks for the replies! After much thought, we have decided to keep looking - for a newer model. Thanks again! Really appreciate your feedback.
