I think I'm going to like my Garmin.
The traffic may be useful for local driving for me. It'll be nice to know if there is a serious accident in my way on to work. However, traffic won't be as important for a long trip. If it's really blocked up somewhere, I'll try to pull off somewhere before the backup and just rest, if that's feasible or possible. Nothing like sitting still in traffic when the temperatures are 90+, AC running, and the engine begins to overheat. At least, on the I-5, there seem to be lots of "safe" shoulders to pull over onto. The Coquihalla was scary. If you got a flat, there was NO shoulder to pull over. And you have traffic coming up at 70 mph or more.
