Yea, though I walk...
Actually I slept through most of the night, one of the advantages of having had a home built to coastal standards even though about as far inland as you can get thutty yar ago, leaving the back of the back yard "Florida natural", and backed up on a county park with a lot of trees is having natural windbreaks on three sides and hedges on the west.
Not like a development where they just level the land and plant houses to the minimum code.
Lots of small stuff in the yard but nothing big and leaves will grow back.
So grotto did its job and the cover even stayed on. Could see the tops of the trees whipping but was pretty quiet at ground level and rain stopped shortly after midnight. By 8am is just a bit blustery out. Hope those on the coasts came through all right.
Biggest surprise was not loosing power even though the media was preaching doom and gloom. Maybe being ready to provide my own helped (racer's corollary of Murphy: "whatever you have a backup for won't break".
