Default Are zero gravity chairs worth it?

Our first camping trip of the year will be over Father's Day weekend. Hayneedle has the Caravan Sports zero gravity chair on sale for 39.99. Thought about getting one for my husband as a surprise for our camping trip. We currently have your basic quad chairs. And they are OLD.

I am sort of a "gram weenie", and these zero gravity chairs weigh a good bit more than our cheapo quad chairs. But they are definitely more comfy. Is it worth it? I mean...cost + extra weight to haul. Every pound adds up.

I also like the moon/saucer type chairs, but I feel like my husband would prefer the reclining of a zero gravity. Do y'all have any recommendations?

Absolutely they are worth it. I bought two when they first came out several years ago. Back then they were about 200 bucks each. The chairs finally gave out . We recently purchased new chairs. I bought my wife one for her birthday. She bought me one for Christmas. The ones we purchased are more expensive. They are heavy duty and beautiful chairs. I am not sure how long the cheaper chairs would hold up. Quad chairs are still useful around a campfire. You can't beat a zero gravity chair for comfort and taking a nap. Make sure the zero gravity chair is on level ground. My old chair broke when I had it set up on uneven ground over a tree root. One of the joints broke due to the stress and my 250 lbs 😂.

Default camping recliner

We have a zero gravity chair but we've never taken it camping because of size and weight. We also have a recliner camp chair which we often take. I've taken many a nap in it. Something like this:

It's a bit larger than a standard camping chair, but not nearly the bulk of the zero gravity chair.

Well, I ignored both of you and ordered something different. This chair from Walmart. It has 3 position recline, weighs half and costs half of the zero gravity chairs, and might pack a little more compactly. Plus, it's easy to return if he doesn't like it. I do wish I could find a little ottoman to go with it for him. That's what's cool about the chairs y'all shared.

not as nice as the zero gravities but better than what we have.

We love our anti-gravity chairs! They are heavier and take up more space but worth it. We didn't bring them on our last trip to save space but ended up being sorry we didn't. We missed them.

Camping World has folding ottomans. They work great and are very light weight.

If it was just me and my husband camping, I would have already bought a couple. They are so much more comfortable. But with 2 kids and bikes and all the extra stuff, I don't think we have room for them right now. I'll reevaluate after our upcoming trip.
