Removing radio/CD player
I have a Panasonic CD player in our TM that is dead (worked up until this trip). I need to get the 'guts' out of the steel box that it slides into so I can check wiring and possibly a fuse. Any one know how to get these units out? The net has not advice I can find as Panasonic says 'see a professional for installation'. Appreciate any guidance.

My radio came with two thin metal removal tools. They normally fit on the sides and enable you to unlock the radio from the metal cage. What model of Panasonic radio is it?

As Kidkraz says, there are metal strips used to unlock and remove the radio from the metal sleeve. My radio is a Sony but yours should have a similar removal process - see attached thumbnail.

if you buy the replacement from Crutchfield, I believe they include a removal tool. (May want to verify).

I've used hack saw blades before...
If replacing, I suggest one with Bluetooth.

CD removal blades to hand
Thanks to all for the quick replies. I do have the two blades (found them in the door slot after all this time!). When I insert them on the sides I still do not see a way to pull out the player itself. The blades do not seem to actually catch on any interior edge to serve as a 'pull' point. I will keep trying. The CD player is listed on the web still, though it is no longer made. But all postings say installation is to be by a professional, so hence no guidance I have found on how to use the tools. Thanks again to all. Will let you know if I get it out.

Take off the top refrigerator vent, remove the wooden cover, push the radio out from the back.

Not 100% sure but I think the two metal blades are supposed to press in on some tabs on each side that are locking the unit into the bracket. Allowing you to grab the center of the radio and slide it out.

Success on CD removal and fuse
Thanks again for the helpful advice on getting my CD player to let go of the box. I did get the tabs on the two blades to engage on the side of the CD player, and it slid out nicely.
While the fuse for the player itself had 'browned' blades the fuse was not blown. Turned out the 20 amp fuse at the TM circuit board was blown. On our 2007 that also powered the external fridge fan, which here in Texas we use constantly. May be that the problem was too much run time on the fan plus the inrush for the CD player. Unclear but both now work. Thanks again.
