Smile Elkmont Purchase

We just bought a Elkmont 24' model, very similar components to the TM I used to own. This one has some repaired accident damage, and has some inside handles missing/broken to repair. Price was low enough to fix them.

I'll miss the fold down, but will appreciate the extra storage, larger refrigerator, and lower price. It will be a temporary home while transitioning to live on a boat in FL. Talk about downsizing!

Dealer here has retired, so I'll contact factory regarding an owners manual and the minor parts needed to get it ship shape.

Hi Again,
I've called the factory and left messages twice, and emailed once regarding an elkmont owners manual. No response.

Does anyone have one they can copy for me?

The battery set up seems to be different than the fold up/down models.

Wondering if the car charges the battery during towing?
It seems to not have an inverter, since some lights work on battery,
and others on electrical hook up?

Does the battery charge when hooked up to 110V land power?

Does the refrigerator work on 110/propane/12V?

Thanks for your help.
Pere

I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for, but it answers some of your questions.
o I'm not sure what you mean by "the battery setup is different". Can you fill us in?
o The car does charge the battery while towing
o No TrailManor, including this one, has an inverter
o The battery does charge from shore power
o The refrig is 2-way, not 3-way (which means propane and 120 VAC power, but not 12 VDC power).

By the way, I found this document on The Wayback Machine, Jan 16, 2009. It's a bit time-consuming, but if you spend some time there, you might find something closer to what you are looking for. Remember that PMs (Private Messages) on this forum do not accept attachments.

When you emailed your parts inquiry to TM, did you address it to [email protected]?
