Default Moose!!!

Amazing.

While traveling back from Iowa City, IA today (without our TM ... bummer), we saw a young bull moose half-way between Des Moines, IA and Omaha, NE on interstate 80!

I startled my wife waking her as she was sleeping at the time. We both watched as it hopped the 4 foot-high fence trotting toward the interstate. We slowed down fearing it would attempt to cross but it changed its mind and returned to the other side of the fence.

You'll have to trust me since we didn't have a chance to get the cell phone out for pictures.

Never thought that I'd see a moose around these parts!

I also saw a bald eagle perched in a tree about 40 miles east of Des Moines.

Wow! We've travelled that section of I-80 many times, and spent several nights in North Liberty. It never occurred to me that there might be moose there! Good story - thanks. I'll watch for 'em next time.
